Currently in the process of recording, Kaleidotrope is an upcoming queer romantic comedy podcast set on a slightly magical college campus where romance and fan fiction tropes reign supreme.
James will play the lead role of Drew, an acerbic college radio host who is reluctantly paired with the ever up-beat Harrison. Together, the two co-hosts-turned-accidental-advice-givers find themselves in the middle of the campus’ oldest mystery: Do happy endings really happen at Sidlesmith? Can you really find your trope?
Kaleidotrope will premiere this spring.
Written by Aaron Johnson and directed by Allison Benko, Salty will hold a staged reading December 10 at The Tank Theatre with a full production anticipated for next Spring.
Salty follows a pen of cheeky penguins and a flock of zookeepers on a bittersweet journey to what might be the end of the world. Johnson's new play picks up years from now at one of the nation's few remaining zoos. With mysterious terminal illnesses and high infant mortality, it's evident Nature is on her way out and taking everybody with her. Exploring gender, sexuality, and parenthood, this tragicomedy unearths the instinctual need to love in an otherwise destructive world. A fishy cocktail of delightful humor and devastation, Salty is an exhibit on life that peers through the glass with brave compassion.
Watch James get asphyxiated by upcoming new Swedish singer Esther Vallee in her new music video 'Numbers.' Produced by the Good Company - whose previous clients include Madonna, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, and Rihanna - the video follows Esther on a murderous spree, of which James is the first of her many victims. Directed by Joakim Carlsson.
