James Evans is a British-born actor, currently based in New York, with over a decade of performance experience and a particular emphasis on classical and Shakespearean theatre.

Having studied acting extracurricularly from a young age, James trained with the British National Youth Theatre at the age of seventeen and, later, the National Youth Film Academy.

After graduating from high school, James studied English Literature at the University of Cambridge, during which time he was involved in over thirty productions, following in the footsteps of Emma Thompson, Ian McKellen, Tilda Swinton, and Derek Jacobi.

In his time as a working actor in the UK, James has been involved in numerous sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, devised his own productions through his co-founded company, Recursion Theatre Company, and acted in a wide range of theatre, from Greek tragedy to Arthur Miller, via the likes of Shakespeare, Marlowe, Chekhov, Wilde, and Coward.

In 2015, James came across The Pond to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York where he was awarded the Lawrence Langner Award for Voice and Speech. Alumni include: Grace Kelly, Lauren Bacall, Danny Devito, Robert Redford, Sarah Paulson, Adrien Brody, and Paul Rudd.

James graduated in 2017 and plans to pursue a career in television and film, whilst building on his experience in theatre.

He is a scorpio. His party trick is turning his arm all the way around. He is a morning person.
